Porcelain made up a large portion of imports from China during early Rattanakosin period. Some items were custom-made to meet orders from noble families while others were meant for general consumers, as locally made porcelain was still of a lower quality. Besides porcelain, these shops also carried expensive imports from China such as glassware and silk fabric.
